Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC^®) Pre-Exam Class and Exam

NALMCO^® is proud to be able to offer ways to help guide individuals through the arduous yet satisfying task of self-improvement. The designation of Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC^® ) is the oldest nationally recognized program in the nation, and the first certification accepted by the Federal EPA Green Lights Program.

Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC^®) Pre-Exam Class

Offered annually in February, at a convenient airport hotel location, the Pre-Exam Class is held in a classroom setting with each section of required subject matter thoroughly presented. The class is designed to effectively cover each area shown below with time reserved for questions and answers at the end of each section. Finally, a general overview of the exam day structure and any additional questions are addressed. Class size is limited to approximately fifteen people to assure effective dissemination of information. The CLMC^® Pre-Exam Class is not mandatory nor is it a prerequisite to the CLMC^® exam, but is highly recommended from previous successful individuals.

Sections covered in the Pre-Exam class include:

• Lamp Technology and Application (Incandescent, Fluorescent, High Intensity Discharge, Light Emitting Diodes (LED)
• Ballast Technology and Application (Fluorescent and HID)
• Retrofit Technology and Calculation
• Layout Design Application (Calculations, Photometric Data)

Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC^®) Exam

Offered the day after the Pre-Exam Class each February, at a convenient airport hotel location, the Pre-Exam Class is held in a classroom setting with each section of required subject matter thoroughly presented. The current version of the CLMC^® Exam consists of a random selection covering all areas of the lighting management industry encompassed into two separate parts. The Exam is graded as one unit with 70% required for passing. The objective Exam consists of true/false and multiple choice questions utilizing separate answer cards. All questions have either been rewritten or updated from the previous version to reflect current technology and trends within the lighting industry. All questions have been source-checked using the following accredited references: Certified Apprentice Lighting Technician (CALT^TM) and Certified Senior Lighting Technician (CSLT^TM) Study Guides, IES Student Handbook; IES Applications Guide; various lamp and ballast manufacturer catalogs; as well as other non-proprietary sources. All questions have been written with today’s potential CLMC^® candidate in mind. Individuals have eight (8) hours to complete the CLMC^® Exam on the designated testing day.
