EXCITING SPEAKERS PLANNED FOR THE NALMCO 2010 CONVENTION

Nationally recognized speakers will provide immediate return on investment. Networking with NALMCO members during meetings, trade show, and evening events will be well worth the time and travel!

Dynamic timely session topics and speakers:

John Sileo, our keynote speaker will present two sessions on Identity Theft: "Privacy Means Profit: Protecting Information Assets." American businesses were the source of more than 280 million stolen customer identities last year alone. The average cost of recovery from data breach was $6.6 Million in 2009. Good personal privacy habits lead to safer data within your business - and safe data is profitable data. For the attendees and spouses: "Think Like a Spy: Bulletproofing Your Identity." Identity theft is America's fastest growing crime and the #1 concern among all Americans. This crime affects one in every ten households every year. This presentation will give attendees the knowledge, skills and plan of action to proactively protect valuable information assets, personally and professionally.

Dr. Chris Kuehl, NALMCO's well-known source of economic information will join us to present: "The Light at the End of the Tunnel was an LED - Not a Train." The prognostications for the 2010 economy have been all over the place but at this juncture it looks like there was more progress than not. This isn't to say that all is well in the world of the dismal scientist but rather that we can start obsessing about something else. There will now be the issue of inflation to contend with and then there is that pesky deficit and the chance that Congress will experience another lurch in a different direction. What does the year look like as we enter its waning months and what does 2011 have in store? This and other delightful topics are on Dr. Kuehl's agenda.

Nadarajah Narendran, Ph.D., is Associate Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Lighting Research Center's Director of Research. Dr. Narendran is well known throughout the lighting industry for his pioneering research and educational activities in the field of solid-state lighting. Dr. Narendran leads a team of researchers and educators in the area of solid-state lighting at the LRC and conducts research and educational programs. Dr. Narendran will present: "LED - What to Look for Today and in the Future."

Rex Havens will bring the convention to a close with a great presentation on Wednesday morning for attendees and spouses: "Everything I Needed to Know I Learned from my Wife." A laugh-a-minute look at men, women, love and marriage, done with clean, clever, positive humor and tasteful sophistication. Rex's show is suitable for all ages and will be followed by some exciting drawings!

Other industry related topics will be announced soon.

Don't forget attendees will have over 20 scheduled hours of product introductions, trade show time and exhibitor/vendor interaction!

Exciting "Optional Activities" are being planned for attendees, spouses, guests and families.

Incredibly low hotel room rates and convention registration fees make this an affordable educational experience you won't want to miss!

MEXICO - SAFETY INFORMATON:

Recent media attention has focused on Mexico and concerns regarding violence and serious security challenges south of the United States border. The safety of NALMCO members is very important. We will continue to share the facts and keep attendees informed and educated about travel within Mexico. We will continue to do so prior to and throughout the Convention.

Tourism is the #2 gross national product in Mexico. Resort areas and tourism zones are highly protected. The tourism corridor of Los Cabos, San Jose' del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, where the NALMCO Convention is being held, are considered tourism zones and resort areas. Current travel warnings for U.S. citizens specify the Northern Mexican border cities of Tijuana, Nogales, Ciudad Juarez, Nuevo Laredo, Monterrey and Matamoros. These cities are not tourist destinations and are located 1,000+ miles from the location of the NALMCO Convention.

While millions of U.S. citizens safely visit Mexico each year, violence in the country has gained visibility. It is imperative that U.S. citizens understand how best to avoid dangerous situations in Mexico. Utilize common–sense precautions. Communicate your itinerary with family and friends, visit only legitimate business and tourist areas and during daylight hours, stay with groups when away from the hotel, exercise caution in unfamiliar areas, and be aware of your surroundings at all times. For updated information on Mexico, visit:

Information for travel from the airport to the hotel will be provided to Convention attendees prior to the Convention. ALL PERSONS TRAVELING BY AIR OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES are required to present a Passport book or other valid travel document to enter or re–enter the Unite d States.

For information on obtaining or renewing your Passport (REQUIRED for travel to and from Mexico) please click here:
